The first term of my year had multiple episodes of catching my breath and multi-tasking my way through. Thesis, family, friends, and everything in between. Writing my thesis at a bar in Sinulog weekend (1 / 2), having dinner with my family and my handouts (1), squeezing in a beach trip two days before my defense (1 / 2 / 3 / 4), brunch dates and papers (1), and the list could go on. My quick unplanned trip to the Capital City was a breather I was thankful I could even take (1 / 2 / 3 / 4). I could still use some practice with time management and I have no idea how I winged it, but I made it (1).
Truthfully, April was the calm after the storm. The glass of white wine after a long day at work. Listened to my favorite band perform live (1 / 2), giving mainstream a try (1 / 2 / 3), afternoon downtime with my favorite person (1 / 2), and trips that make you grateful for family (1).
As much as we unconsciously drown ourselves with meetings after meetings, emails after emails, and papers after papers, hit that snooze button once in a while because there's nothing like enjoying yourself a glass of sour amaretto while getting a neat tan. As the wise Meredith Grey puts it, "I think you can't wait for someone to fly underneath you and save your life. I think you have to save yourself."
